Todd, did the visitSyracuse people contact you? They said they would check with a few hotels and get back to us last week. I told them you were race director. I can call the guy again if you haven't heard anything.

Subject: [occ_race_comm] Syracuse Race Weekend - Criterium at the State Fair Grounds!!!
Hey folks,
I wanted to provide a quick update to everyone...and at the same time apologize for not providing updates sooner.
As some of you may know, we weren't able to secure a date with the city of Syracuse to use Onondaga Park for the criterium that both fit their schedule and Bike Loft East that didn't land us in some terrible dates.
In looking for a new location I approached the State Fair going on over two months ago, and Mike Lyon and I met with them back on April 3rd.
Both during my conversations with them and during the meeting they indicated that they didn't see a problem with holding the event there, but getting a final "yes" out of them was excruciating.
As of about 5 minutes ago I have a verbal 'yes' from them, and they're sending me the rest of the docs to complete.
Up until now I didn't want to jump the gun and make any general announcements, but now we can complete the flyer and related docs and start spamming everyone with the very good news.
The location we mapped out for the crit is right behind gate 1 (the main gate), and we'll be racing around the main cluster of buildings to create a 4-corner crit (I'll follow-up with a map to everyone). Overall it should be a fantastic venue for the event with lots of parking, on-site restrooms, state for awards, etc., etc., etc.
Definitely good news to start the weekend with!
