What have I been missing? We are considering spending thousands of dollars to procure a venue when it’s something we can get for free. Those race funds we refer to were hard fought for and to spend them this way is totally unconscionable.
Let’s go back to the drawing board. I can get a venue as well as any of you and we will not go in the red just to have a race that we cannot afford.
This figure has never been mentioned and I have seen no minutes of any meetings.
The race should be making money and never be a drain on finances. I asked to see the finances several months ago and so far that request has been ignored.
Paying this kind of money is totally irresponsible. 
I will stand corrected if somebody is going to show me how spending this kind of stupid money is going to make us come out ahead.

Received a packet from the fairgrounds with the contracts and invoice. These need to be signed and notarized, and returned by June 2, along with payment of $4730 and some additional paperwork. I may need to pull money from the Race Reserve fund to cover this.
