I’m happy to come also, and ride the course. With go pro to record it like Dave did.   Brian was interested too, I think, just to see where timing should go.  Let me know when you think you might go.  I’m out of town Thursday.

When we drove the course with the event director the layout seemed pretty straight forward.  I'll have to work out a time I can drop by this week and check it out again.

I'm much more concerned about the main entrance and the road furniture than the double-back (the road is extremely wide). And I don't like the amount of corners. I just don't see much alternative. Take a look.

I'm really concerned that we are three weeks from the race and don't have a course.

I’m thinking we do NOT have any part that doubles back and is head on.  Anywhere.  Even close. https://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=GL-5LkEQL1Y

Otherwise, not knowing much about crits, I defer to the more educated.  And still volunteer to go out and ride around and help pick a course (in fact Brian and I were supposed to do that this week).

I went to the fairgrounds today to make a GoPro video of the crit course to post on the FB page. It turns out that the course as designed on the map is not possible. Some of the roadway does not exist any longer. I've attached a map that shows the removal of the roads for what would have been the >90 degree turn from Cattaraugus to Cayuga Street. Much of Cayuga Street has been removed.

Here is a map of what I would recommend we do. It's pretty technical, with six right hand turns and two lefts. But I didn't see anything else that made sense, since as I understand it, we can't go north because of other things going on. This course is .82 miles long.

Here is a video of my suggestion.

There are some paved ramps into the Science and Industry building and the Center of Progress building that will need cones around them.

I'm nervous about two spots on the course, both are marked in the video. One is the tight turn onto Cayuga Street, the other is the proximity to the main gate.
