I wasn’t necessarily thinking a sponsor had to be a media member. Maybe a Byrne Dairy , since chocolate milk is the new recovery drink or a Marks pizza that seems to be popping up everywhere.
We had Bud Poliquin do a story on the race one and we bought some time with a radio station one year and did 150 spots and a radio interview to get some interest. That’s the year we had 170 kids and a very happy sponsor.
OCC sounds like a great place to do a circuit race if we can pull it off. Hopefully we never go in the red again. And we should maybe look at 1 bike for the entire race. It makes it easier for everyone. Some riders would hate it but it does level the field in some ways.
I will keep pushing that we need to keep the race in front if everybody. We can’t be too early with anything. When we have something new we should get it out so everybody including our membership is looking forward to the event. It’s getting harder and harder to get participants so why not make this the one event they want to travel to.

Then do the same with the next group of racers so we might have 5 groups going off in the first race and 4 in the next. This could the easily have been done this year. What I am getting at, of course, is that we can always back up a start time and that way if we have an unusually large number of entries in one category we would give them a different start time or maybe combine them with the next race. This way we all get done early.
