Hopefully this is good news. We have changed the date for our race and are just going with a road race. The new date is August 19 and if you want to double up for the weekend there is another road race on Saturday up the road in Oswego.

If you have never ridden in Central NY you really are missing the best riding in NYS. Lots of roads with very little traffic, all the hills you could ever want and beautiful lakes everyplace.  And cheap motels. Great restaurants and prices that are nothing like NYC.

I have bad news. Unfortunately, with the extremely tight schedule given to us by the community board, FT. Lee Criterium on July 29 which will conflict with your weekend race.

We can still work together to promote each other's races without competing for riders and not sour the relationship with the CRCA and Onondaga Cycling Club.

Thank you for your email. As a cycling club and event organizer, we are all in the same boat, all trying to stay afloat.

We are now discussing our 2018 event calendar and will take into accounts other races in the region to minimize schedule conflicts.

The CRCA would be glad to market your event as the Onondaga Cycling Club could do the same for ours. It would be great to have the upstate NY crowd to come down to NYC and race.

 Every year for the past 22, we, the Onondaga Cycling Club, has held a race that has in the distant past been well attended by members of your various racing teams. It used to be a Sunday Crit and your members always did well.

As you know everything in racing is always in a constant state of flux. Riders move on, sponsors go in different directions and races go by the wayside. But our race, Syracuse Race Weekend has persevered and grown into a 3 stage omnium that we as a club are proud to present every Summer. We began working on next years race the week after we held the 2017 version.

Next years race will be held July 28/29 and will consist of a crit,TT and RR .It’s great event and we would love to see more of your members traveling up to some of what is the best cycling territory in the Northeast.

Could you please help us to get the word out to your members and hopefully they will come up and enjoy our great roads and fun racing. Our race committee is working on publicity info and preparing brochures flyers and all the info necessary to make for a successful and enjoyable weekend.
