The racers had nothing but good things to say.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Comic Sans MS""> Maybe you don’t know but our by-laws require us to promote cycling as this event does. I am extremely disappointed in the apparent apathy of our members. We asked for volunteers to help with setup on Friday. Almost all of you must have been working or had another commitment. There were 5 of us setting up the course from 12-4. Imagine how much faster this would have gone if there were a couple more to help. Thanks to Noel Bonk, Brian Goetke, Todd Relyea, and Paul Voglewede for doing the work. Oh yeah, there was also a request to help with tear down. Fortunately, several of the racers and family members helped along with a few of our members, so it only took about 1- 1Β½ to complete.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Comic Sans MS""><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Comic Sans MS"">I’m going to be blunt. What is wrong with you people? You want events but most of you just sit back and let someone else do the work. This extends into our ride calendar with the request for ride leaders. In the past it was rare that there wasn’t someone stepping up. Now it happens frequently. Perhaps this is at least partially the result of our decreased membership. I don’t claim to have a solution, but it takes more than a few doing all the work.
