It's been a
while since I've sent an update, and as I
was composing this I realized that there is
a lot going on!
Fly6 Giveaway:
We've given away two of the Fly6 camera/tail
lights provided by the Rabin Law Firm with
the last one being given away at the end of
August. As a reminder, if you're an OCC
member and you've ridden with the club at
least once during August, e-mail me and
you'll be entered in the final drawing for
this very cool device.
September
ride leaders needed:
Checking the
OCC Ride calendar, we currently have six
rides in September with no ride leaders.
She everyone your organizational and
cycling prowess by signing up as a ride
leader! Full information on ride leader
responsibilities can be found at the link
below:

Fall
Century/Charity Ride:
Here's another
fall favorite to put on your calendar - our
annual Fall Century/Charity Ride! Besides a
great route from Carpenters Brook Fish
Hatchery that follows a scenic route through
Central NY up through Oswego and back, we
also have fully stocked rest stops and a
post ride picnic and BBQ when you're done.
It's always been a really fun day!

Elections:
It's hard to
believe but elections for the Onondaga
Cycling Club board of directors are in
October, and in contrast to popular belief
the club doesn't run itself. The
obligations are only a few hours a month, so
step up to the plate and throw your hat in
to the ring. Contact either myself, Mike
Lyon or Colleen Farrell if you'd like to be
placed on the ballot or have any questions:

Mike: lyon689@PROTECTED
2016 Syracuse Race Weekend:
Even harder to believe is that the first
organizing meeting for the 2016 Syracuse
Race Weekend is on Sunday September 13th
(Has it been a year already!?). This is a
huge event and its success relies heavily on
the volunteers who make it happen. We have
a great core of event directors, but we're
always looking for anyone interested in
becoming more involved. Just e-mail me for
details on when and where we're meeting.
Cyclocross
weekend: Oct 24, 25.
Another great
event we have coming up is Cyclocross
weekend where the OCC and MaxPower race team
combine forces to put together a fantastic
weekend of racing. Details to follow, but
if you're not racing then come out to
Longbranch park in Friday October 23rd to
help us set-up. If you can't race or
obligations prevent you from spending a
Friday afternoon pounding stakes into the
ground, then grab your cow bell and cheer on
(heckle?) the racers. It's a huge amount of
fun!
WTF
Class Leaders:
You may have
started to noticed that chill in the air in
the evenings, which means that indoor
training at the CNYTriathlon Winter Training
Facility isn't far off. Right now
Instructors for Mondays, Wednesdays,
Thursday evening and Saturday mornings have
been lined up, but Friday evenings and
Sunday morning is still open. If you're
interested in leading a class, please
contact Ken Geary: president@PROTECTED
Fall
Spectacular:
Earlier this year the Onondaga Cycling Club
and CNYTriathlon put together the Spring
Fling to kick off the cycling season, and it
was such a success that we're currently
planning the Fall Spectacular
on Sunday, October 18th. Details to follow,
but expect to see a bigger better bike swap,
Time Trial Wars, vendors and technical
talks.
As always, please let me know if you have
any comments or questions:
