FYI, January NYSBRA newsletter
below.
Note that NYSBRA is looking to fast-track new USACycling
officials, as we are short of officials in New York. If you
think you may be interested, please contact Alan Atwood at the
address below. I can tell you that the OCC has experienced
fairly severe difficulties in securing officials for our events
for the last couple of years.

New
Year - New Season!
A Call
for Officials
Do you like going
to watch bike races? Do you
want to be involved in the race
AND get paid? How about your
spouse or parents, do they come
to races anyway? This could be
a great way for them to get
involved. New York has a
shortage of officials. We all
know you can't have a race
without them. NYSBRA is putting
out a call for help and would
love anyone interested to give
it a try. NYSBRA is looking to
host clinics to fast-track
people into becoming officials.
If you are interested or even
just want more info on what it
means to be an official, please
email the NYSBRA Officials
Coordinator, Alan Atwood -
alan_atwood@PROTECTED.

Race Calendar Going Final
Part of what
NYSBRA does is maintain the
state race calendar. Beyond
just being a list of races in
(and near) New York State, We
try to avoid conflicts with
multiple races going on the same
day and generally try to make
for the best schedule possible.
If you are a race promoter and
haven't submitted your race to
the calendar yet, please submit
to Jeff Poulin
(NYSBRAPresident@PROTECTED)
ASAP. The finalized calendar
will go up immediately after the
annual meeting.
If you want to look at the
latest draft, it is available
at http://www.nysbra.com/road/schedule/
(scroll down past the Google
Calendar)
All of the races that make the
finalized calendar will be out
on the NYSBRA Google Calendar,
that way you can connect your
mobile device. Instructions are
on the same page.
Change of
positions in Western
Eric Curtis,
NYSBRA's Western Region
representative asked to step
down from his position recently.
In an effort to keep interested
people involved, Eric has moved
to the NYSBRA member-at-large
position. This will allow him
to still be part of NYSBRA, but
alleviates demands on his time.
Mike Cormier, an active racer
from Buffalo and level C
official who has been
participating with the NYSBRA
board for more than a year as a
member-at-large, has agreed to
step in and take over Eric's
vacated position. We wish Mike
the best stepping in and hope
Eric can stay plugged in and
provide valuable input as
needed.
