Hey folks, 

Just to be clear on what people are seeing, if you signed-up on GroupSpot, then all you're receiving from GroupSpot are ride notifications (24 hours before the ride).  If you look at the app, and compare it to the listserv, none of the comments or posts on GroupSpot have appeared on the OCC listserve.  We discussed the possibility of doing this during the last board meeting but it wasn't implemented.

There has been an uptick of posts to the listserve this week (a handful of event announcements and ride discussions), but none of that was from GroupSpot.

Of course for those that were around in the pre-facebook/social media days, when the listserve was the only way club members had to communicate, it was like drinking from a fire hose...it's just a shadow of its former self...

It's not just the GroupSpot app. All the GroupSpot posts are now coming through the OCC list serve as well. We've unleashed a posting monster.

No need to unsubscribe. Notifications can be customized, anywhere from turning them off completely to making them silent or just showing up for a few seconds before vanishing.

Does anyone else fell we’re over using GroupSpot? Once we turn the general membership loose with this app I can see double digit notices every day especially if every group of 3-5 members who like to ride together start chatting back and forth on the app. We already send an email out to the club on Mondays listing the week’s rides noting where a leader is needed. I don’t see the need for sending out additional notices.

 

I’m ready to unsubscribe to both the GroupSpot app and the OCC listserve.
