Below was my suggestion for the wording of an award plaque for Mike Lyon. Looks like I only sent it to Paul. Please provide comments or update by April 30^th and I’ll take the action to get it made up.

Paul,

We have only completed the preliminary ride calendar through Labor Day. We had planned to finish yesterday but decided not to due to the weather. Depending on the committee’s personal schedules we may not be able to meet again prior to Sunday’s board meeting. Also, Doug is still the only person who can generate a calendar format we post from the Excel file we use to capture the rides. The Excel can’t include Tuesday or Thursdays as Doug’s SW injects those and chokes if we include them (lesson learned from last year).

That said I recommend we provide the status of where we stand an plan to complete the draft list, have Doug generate the calendar format and circulate the draft for comment by mid-January. We could discuss if we circulate the draft only to the board or to the general membership and what deadlines we want to set. If we only have the board review the calendar we should be able to present the final version at the banquet.

By the way, we exchanged emails about present Mike Lyon with a lifetime achievement award. Has anyone done anything on that? My thought was a wooden plaque with a gold plate engraved with something like:

On Behalf of a Grateful Onondaga Cycling Club We Hereby Present Mike Lyon with a Lifetime Achievement Award for His 20 Years of Dedicated Service to the Syracuse Cycling Community.

I haven’t checked into this yet but am happy to find a trophy maker in town. Not sure what they can do with the club logo. Thoughts?
