Re: Problems with the crit course

May 30th 2017 MDT

I’m happy to come also, and ride the course. With go pro to record it like Dave did.   Brian was interested too, I think, just to see where timing should go.  Let me know when you think you might go.  I’m out of town Thursday.  On May 30, 2017, at 8:20 AM, Todd Relyea brewer13210@PROTECTED [OCC_Race_Committee] <occ_race_comm@PROTECTED> wrote: When we drove the course with the event director the layout seemed pretty straight forward.  I'll have to work out a time I can drop by this wee ...Continue Reading

When we drove the course with the event director the layout seemed pretty straight forward.  I'll have to work out a time I can drop by this week and check it out again.   Todd Relyea *From:* "Dave Grieves i.am.dave.grieves@PROTECTED [OCC_Race_Committee]" <occ_race_comm@PROTECTED> *To:* OCC_Race_Committee Subscriber <brewer13210@PROTECTED> *Sent:* Tuesday, May 30, 2017 8:03 AM *Subject:* Re: [occ_race_comm] Problems with the crit course  I'm much more ...Continue Reading

Re: Problems with the crit course

May 30th 2017 MDT

I'm much more concerned about the main entrance and the road furniture than the double-back (the road is extremely wide). And I don't like the amount of corners. I just don't see much alternative. Take a look. I'm really concerned that we are three weeks from the race and don't have a course. On Mon, May 29, 2017 at 10:19 PM, Ben Rabin bikehelp@PROTECTED [OCC_Race_Committee] <occ_race_comm@PROTECTED> wrote:__  I’m thinking we do NOT have any part that doubles back and is head on.  Anywhere.&n ...Continue Reading

I’m thinking we do NOT have any part that doubles back and is head on.  Anywhere.  Even close.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GL-5LkEQL1YOtherwise, not knowing much about crits, I defer to the more educated.  And still volunteer to go out and ride around and help pick a course (in fact Brian and I were supposed to do that this week).  On May 29, 2017, at 7:34 PM, Dave Grieves i.am.dave.grieves@PROTECTED [OCC_Race_Committee] <occ_race_comm@PROTECTED> wrote: I went to the fairgrounds ...Continue Reading

Problems with the crit course

May 29th 2017 MDT

I went to the fairgrounds today to make a GoPro video of the crit course to post on the FB page. It turns out that the course as designed on the map is not possible. Some of the roadway does not exist any longer. I've attached a map that shows the removal of the roads for what would have been the >90 degree turn from Cattaraugus to Cayuga Street. Much of Cayuga Street has been removed. Here is a map of what I would recommend we do. It's pretty technical, with six right hand turns and two lefts. But I didn't see anythi ...Continue Reading

FW: Ramada Carrier Circle race weekend

May 23rd 2017 MDT

Todd, see below.  The Carrier Circle Ramada has set up a courtesy block of rooms for $89.00 plus tax as per their previous proposal.   I recommend that we get this information onto the website and provide it to registrants as soon as we can.    I’ll follow up with Marriott to check whether their proposal is also still applicable, but in the meantime, we should  run with the Ramada information as the rate is very competitive.
