The forecast is for strong storms, with high winds and heavy rain to pass through the area today. From what I have seen, they are predicting "end of the day, towards evening" as the timeframe for the heavy stuff to start. So with that in mind - Gus and I will keep an eye on the weather and radar as the day progresses. We'll post to the Listserv and Facebook page BY 4PM TODAY to let you know if the ride is on.Please check either your email or the FB page before you head to the ride tonight.Thanks!-Dave & Gus ...Continue Reading

Oh! Ye of little faith! It turned out to be a beautiful night for the Time Trial, again !!My confidence in the weather forecast almost jinxed me. Thundering dark clouds ominously surrounded us to the north and east. And the roads were still slightly wet at Go! time. The temperature had cooled to a comfy 75 degrees albeit with high humidity. But, most importantly, the winds completely faded to near dead calm !! This made for absolutely the best TT conditions of the ...Continue Reading

Due to the discovery of mosquitoes with both West Nile and EEE virus, Madison County is to begin aerial spraying of the Black Creek Swamp area and this will directly affect our Slow & Easy Ride this week.So we are cancelling due to the distinct possibility of toxic pesticides being sprayed across much of our route.Hopefully it will have dissipated by next week and we can ride again. But don't wait for the Slow & Easy, get out and ride on your own! I plan to!See you next week.-David & Gus ...Continue Reading

Good weather for the ride last night. Moderate temperatures in the low 70s that cooled to the high 60s by the end of the ride. The brisk NE wind was welcomed on the climb up Rt 91. I know there were at least two PRs set on the climb last night. Gotta put an asterisk next to that one.The last minute ride start change allowed the majority of the riders to complete the long ride, which was about 32 miles long. Thanks to Glen Larson who volunteered to man the original start location to let any one w ...Continue Reading
