Hi Everyone,
What a difference a week makes as well as about 20 degree warmer and dry weather. Last Tuesday was a tough ride and our turn out showed that but this week was a different story. We had 44 members show up yesterday along with 4 guests to give us a total of 48 riders for the second Slow ‘n Easy west ride of the season. We covered a total of 626 miles for the evening. What a great turnout and it was a pleasure to see a lot of old friends from last year’s rides as well as having the opportunity to meet a lot of new riders. Welcome to all of you and thanks for coming out.
I apologize for getting back late with the canal group and seeing a number of you were already gone. We did get you all signed in from your back of the envelope notations. While I understand some folks have to get back home early but I encourage those of you who can to hang around to talk about the ride. We’re always are interested in your thoughts on how we can improve the ride.
Many thanks to Mike for taking the long highway group out and doing about 16 miles on their trip to Memphis (NY that is). Also, a big thanks goes out to Mark Perrin of The Bikery and his co-rideleaders Dean Connery and Al Storrings who led the 10 mile highway ride. They all did a great job. I had an enjoyable group on a 9 mile canal loop last night. Everyone did well, even our new riders. I believe Tom Hotaling should be back again next week to lead a fourth group. I am sure he will come up with something challenging.
Mike and I very much appreciate the help that these additional ride leaders give the ride. By having the extra help we can offer you a wide choice of rides and ability levels so that you can progress in your riding skills while having fun.
See you all next week hopefully,
Ciao,
Tony
PS: Did you all get a chance to look over the new Bikery shop van last night? Great looking job on the wrap.
