Forecast update:
The forecast has actually improved slightly. The expectation is the clouds will drift away to the east and bless us with clear sunny skies. Winds will be from the NW at 8-9 mph. The temperature should hover around 57 degrees.
Zero percent chance of showers/rain/hail/sleet/snow/frogs.
Don't get nervous if I'm not at the start before 6:00 pm... I'll be marking and sweeping the course for the first time this year. This may take a bit longer than it usually does.
If you haven't done this before, it is always good to put in a good warm-up before embarking on the Race of Truth. It's around 3 miles to ride from the end of Chestnut Ridge (where the start is) to the right hand turn onto Marsh Mill - 6 miles for the round trip. Some pre-ride the whole 10.0 mile course. Please familiarize yourself with the course. While it is a fairly simple route, some have missed the last turn onto Black Creek and ended up touring the bridges of Madison County.

It's that time of year again!
Starting Tuesday, May 17th, the OCC will be holding the weekly Time Trials. This year we will be running it exclusively on the East course. This TT course is considered is a very fast course with only right hand turns and decent road surfaces.
The weather forecast at start time calls for partly cloudy skies, NW wind at 9 mph with temps around 57 degrees.
Time Trial course details:
The course is 10.0 miles long, extremely flat and consists of only right hand turns. In brief, it starts at the end of Chestnut Ridge near Lakeport Rd, runs west 3.0 miles to a right on Marsh Mill, at approx 5.0 miles a right turn on Kirkville Rd, almost immediately turn on to Moore Rd, 2.0 miles later at approx 7.0 mile mark turn right on Smith Ridge Rd, approx 1.0 mile later turn right on Black Creek Rd. and finish approx 2 miles later.
Parking is available at the starting line at Demario Farms. Please park against the grass and away from the entrances. If there happens to be activity there that precludes us from using the lot, please park at the alternate parking area at the Chittenango Middle School located approximately a mile away on Fyler Rd near Lakeport Rd. Please Do Not park in the New York Bus Sales parking lot.
