Good morning Everyone,
As many people said last night “…what a great night to ride.” It surely was a perfect night to get out and turn the pedals.
We had a great turnout of riders with 54 members and no guests for a total of 54 riders. We offered our usual choices of 4 rides and the group covered a total of 971 miles. There were no takers for the 10 mile canal/highway ride but there were plenty of folks on each of the other rides. Mark Perrin of The Bikery along with Dean Connery, Roland Pearson and Al Storings lead a group on the normal all highway easy route but split up at the end to cover both 10 mile and 13 mile loops for those wanting a little longer ride. I may have to bring my road bike so that I can ride the roads if we don’t have folks on the canal.
Mike Lyon led a good size group on a jaunt that covered 21 miles. This was the same route as last week…but in reverse…which makes for a totally different ride. Tom Hotaling ran the challenge group for more experienced riders and they covered a total of 23 miles. Tom tells me that he has all the routes digitized and they will be going up on the club web site soon. Once they’re up, he will let me know what route he plans to follow for the week and those of you who enjoy them will be able to download the map for the ride. We will keep you advised.
Mary Mariano (Shick) told me last night that there was a great turnout for club clothing on this last order. She will be in touch with those who ordered clothes when they arrive and make sure you get them.
Mike had one rider who had 3 flats last night L. He thinks there is a problem with the tire or rim that needs to be ferreted out. Let’s hope they come up with an answer. Treats included Lee’s Pineapple cookies and Nancy’s chocolate zucchini bread…yum.
See you all next Tuesday.
Ciao,
Tony
