It was another pleasant night for a Time Trial last night. This is getting a bit repetitive. We have yet to deal with rain
during the Tuesday East Time Trial in 2015 and 2016. I'm sure I just cursed us now.
Moving on... the temperature rose to a balmy 76 degrees and the variable winds hovered around 5 mph.
We had 9 roll to the line - two others had showed up, but a flat tire and an on bike electronic equipment failure
precluded them from pushing off. We had one new contestant - Welcome Dennis!
For the third consecutive TT, Alex Johnson posted the fastest time of the night - smoking a 23:31 (25.51 mph) - just
.18 seconds from tying his 2016 course best time. Kudos to Alex for his consistency. The Fastest Woman Time (FWT)
was set by Annie Porter, 26:26 (22.70 mph). Four ( Annie, Eric, Tim and Stephanie) established PRs on the night and Steve had a 2016 PR which was only 6 seconds off of his 2015 PR.
Next week, we will be moving the venue to the Syracuse Race Weekend Time Trial location at Lafayette. This
will offer an opportunity for Race Weekend racers to practice on the course they'll be racing on and a change
of pace for everyone else. The 10.7 mile course has a fairly steady climb on the way out (1-3%) from mile
mark 2 to mile mark 5 and then a FAST downhill finish the last 5 miles! Should be fun!
