15 riders showed up to tackle the hilly Delphi-Damon ride on Sunday. 5 of the riders were guests and assured me that their membership was in the mail.
6 riders completed the 55 mile ride (~3800 ft of climbing) while others did a variety of distances to suit their needs. Personally, I could not recall feeling that we had a tailwind, so I checked the weather logs. Yep, winds started out SSE (some headwind going out) and then shifted to the SSW (headwind as we headed west on Damon, Rt 80,etc). Temps hit a balmy 86 degrees about halfway through the ride, but at least it was a dry heat!!! Luckily, there was a water stop available in New Woodstock to provide some relief for the long ride.
As far as I know, there were no mishaps other than a thrown chain.
Total miles ridden: approximately 683 miles
