My apologies if you've
received this message more than once.
This year, the OCC Syracuse Race Weekend is being held on July
8th, 9th and 10th, consisting of a Friday Hill Climb, Saturday
Time Trial, Saturday Criterium and Sunday Road Race.
If you've attended to an OCC ride within the last two weeks,
then you've likely already heard my appeal for volunteers for
Race Weekend. It's now crunch time, and we're still looking for
road marshals, pace car drivers and wheel car drivers,
especially for the road race in Tully on Sunday.
As always, we have racers coming in from all over the US and
Canada, and the success of race weekend hinges on the club
members who come out and volunteer their time to make this a
great event.
Note that there are NO scheduled OCC rides this weekend, so why
not volunteer and get the best seat in the house for a great
bike race.
FAQ:
- Does someone need to be an OCC member to volunteer?
NO...anyone can volunteer for the event,
- Do I have to have any previous experience? NO...all of
the duties are relatively simple,
- I only have a few free hours this weekend, can you still
use me? ABSOLUTELY, there is no big time commitments.
As an extra incentive this year, all volunteers, regardless of
which day you're volunteering for, are invited to join us for
dinner after the Hill Climb on Friday July 8th at Beak &
Skiff in LaFayette
To make things simple, this year we're using
BikeReg
to organize volunteers, we're we've listed all of the open
positions we need help with. Just follow the link and select
the event and job from the list.
If you want to volunteer but have no idea what anything on
BikeReg means, just contact me at the number/e-mail below.
Thanks!
