Hi Everyone,

Sorry for the false start on the last email…hit the wrong button L…it happens.  Also, I meant to get this out to you yesterday but got involved and a project and ran out of time…so here it is on Monday.  Here’s what I meant to send.

S + L logo.jpgOCC’s next Slow ‘n Easy West ride is scheduled for tomorrow,  Tuesday July 26, 2016 and leaves from the west end parking lot of Reed Webster Park in Camillus, located on Warners Rd (Rt 173), promptly at 6:00 PM.  Please arrive early so that you can sign in and be ready to depart on time.

The forecast for Tuesday is “…Mostly sunny and less humid”;  temperatures will be around 84 degrees. Dress accordingly and bring ample water to stay hydrated.  Looking like it should be  a nice evening for a ride…real SUMMER weather.

With the nice weather tomorrow there should be no excuse for not coming out to ride.  It certainly won’t be too cold…nor should it be too wet. Too warm???  Never on a bike…you make your own breeze.  Get off the couch and away from the TV and do something healthy for your body…come cycling with us.  Dress for the warmth and bring plenty of water to stay hydrated.  It will be a nice night to ride.

The  OCC Slow ‘n Easy rides provide a fun cycling experience for anyone who wants to get into cycling…brand new or a return from the past.  The ride(s) offers a variety of route/ride options that have various skill and ability levels allowing us to better match rider experience levels so that there is something for everyone.  All of our rides are “no drop” rides so you won’t get left behind.  Why not give it a try?

It’s the last Tuesday of the month so Tom Hotaling said he will once again lead his experienced challenge group on a “Tour de Hills” in the area.  Tom selected the hilly option # 3; 26.7 miles and 1435 ft of climbing.  Tom will be away but has arranged with Dale Barnell to lead the group.   The rest of the crew will have our usual variety of very easy to mildly challenging rides.  Pick to ride that fits your ability. So, come on out and you’ll find a ride you like tomorrow night.

This ride is open to all members of the club as well as guests who have an interest in the sport. (Remember, if you have not yet renewed your membership from 2015…you are not a member and must sign in as a guest.)  Guests are encouraged to join us on a ride and see if they like what we offer.  If they do enjoy the ride, then we invite them to become a member so that they can take advantage of all the other club rides and activities during the year.  Our insurance only allows us to have guests ride once during the season.  Membership applications are available at rides or on line.

All riders are required to wear a DOT approved bike helmet for these rides.  If you don’t have one, you can buy one at your favorite bike shop or sporting goods store.  No helmet…no ride...no exceptions…and our insurance requires it.  Riding without a helmet can be very dangerous.

So, join us this tomorrow evening for the next S’nE West ride.

Bring:     Your bike, an approved helmet, water bottle and a strong desire to ride; with the warmer weather, you’ll want to stay hydrated

Dress:    Whatever you are comfortable wearing on a bike… the weather will help dictate this

Mike Lyon and I will be there to answer your questions and lead the rides along with our other volunteer ride leaders.  As usual, we’ll have treats for after the ride.  If you enjoy baking you are always welcome to bring post ride snacks to share…and showcase your skills.  Stick around after the ride and we’ll be happy to listen to your comments as well as answer any questions you may have.

See you all Tuesday evening.  If you have any questions come early and we’ll will be happy to answer them.

Ciao,

Tony
