Hi Everyone,
I am looking ahead to the weather for this Tuesday’s Slow ‘n Easy West Ride and it certainly looks like it should be another great evening to ride. With a forecast of “mostly sunny” and a high of 89…we can’t complain about the weather. Dress accordingly.
This week’s Slow ‘n Easy West ride will depart from the west end parking lot of Reed Webster Park Tuesday evening at 6:00 PM. As usual, Mike and I will be primary ride leaders and we’ll have our volunteer ride leaders there so expect to have four different rides…at different levels and speeds. Be sure to listen carefully when we are announcing the ride groups so that you can pick the ride that best fits your interests and skill levels.
Tom Hotaling tells me that he plans to us option #6 this week. Not on the web you say? Tom tells me we will have it up before the ride so that you all can see it. It’s a new route!
As I mentioned in previous emails, we offer different routes and speeds because we have found that as riders grow stronger with experience on the slower and easier rides, they like to go a little farther and faster…so we try to offer a variety of rides to fit a broader span of interests and abilities. Not everyone is a beginner nor is everyone a racer. Don’t forget that the S’nE rides are “no drop” rides. No one is left to fend for themselves. We regroup at regular intervals so we are always watching for you.
We are getting close to the end of our season as we move through August. There are 4 or possibly 5 more SnE Tuesdays left, depending on what the weather does in September. So…if you have been putting it off…don’t…or you will miss out. Come on out this Tuesday and join us for some great fun. If you are new and wanting to get into the sport or trying to get back into it after being away for a number of years…come see us and you’ll be glad you did!
Here are the details:
Where: Reed Webster Park, Camillus, NY located on Warners Rd (Rt 173) (parking lot on west end near tennis courts)
When: Ride(s) leaves at 6:00 PM sharp; sign-in starts at ~5:30 PM
Bring: Your bike (make sure it is road worthy and safe to ride; check tire pressures), an approved helmet, water bottle and a strong desire to ride. Remember, helmets are not optional! Be sure to bring extra water since it will be pretty warm
Dress: Whatever you are comfortable wearing on a bike… the weather will help dictate this.
For those of you who join us, plan to stay around for the post ride treats. I see a lot of folks who take off right after they get in from the ride. I know some folks have obligations that force them to leave but for those who do not, why not stick around a bit and enjoy the great camaraderie that is a part of the sport? This is a great time to meet other riders. You can also get to Mike or me and let us know if you have any thoughts regarding the ride. As usual, there will be cookies and other treats after the ride. Many thanks to those of you who brought in treats last week…they are always greatly appreciated by the riders. Additional treats are always welcomed.
See you Tuesday!
Ciao,
Tony
