Hi Everyone,
OCC’s next Slow ‘n Easy West ride is scheduled for Tuesday August 23, 2016 and leaves from the west end parking lot of Reed Webster Park in Camillus, located on Warners Rd (Rt 173), promptly at 6:00 PM. This is our 18th ride of the season. After this ride there are only three more scheduled rides and the season for SnE will be over…where did it go???
The Accuweather forecast for Tuesday is “…Mostly sunny, warmer and less humid”; temperatures will be in the low 80s. Looks like it should be dry for the day…and that will be different from last week’s ride.
We are running out of ride nights so why not plan to come on out for one of the rides? You have been putting it off long enough…now is the time to act on what you have been wanting to do…come out and join us for another SnE west ride tomorrow evening.
As of last week, the group has ridden a total of 11626 miles for the season. Our largest turnout was 57 riders on two different nights and our lowest was 10 riders on a chilly evening with a temperature of 46 degrees. We still have a few rides left to exceed our record high turnouts but I don’t want to see a record low number.
As soon as I hear from Tom Hotaling, I will post the ride option he is using for this week’s challenge…watch your emails.
We’ll have our usual selection of rides to meet your skill set and all of our rides are “no drop” rides so you won’t get left behind. Why not give it a try before the season is over?
This ride is open to all members of the club as well as guests who have an interest in the sport. Guests are encouraged to join us on a ride and see if they like what we offer. If they do enjoy the ride, then we invite them to become a member so that they can take advantage of all the other club rides and activities during the year. Our insurance only allows us to have guests ride once during the season. Membership applications are available at rides or on line.
All riders are required to wear a DOT approved bike helmet for these rides. If you don’t have one, you can buy one at your favorite bike shop or sporting goods store. No helmet…no ride...no exceptions…and our insurance requires it. Riding without a helmet can be very dangerous.
So, join us this Tuesday evening for the next S’nE West ride.
Where: Reed Webster Park, Camillus, NY located on Warners Rd (Rt 173) (parking lot on west end near tennis courts)

Mike Lyon and I will be there to answer your questions and lead the rides along with our other volunteer ride leaders. As usual, we’ll have treats for after the ride. If you enjoy baking, you are always welcome to bring post ride snacks to share…and showcase your skills. Stick around after the ride and we’ll be happy to listen to your comments as well as answer any questions you may have.
See you all Tuesday evening. If you have any questions come early and we’ll will be happy to answer them.
Ciao,
Tony
