11 members and one guest road between 21 and 45 miles through the hills of Marcellus and South Onondaga.  It was a beautiful day and a nice ride.

Actually, it was a hellish day for the ride leader.  A thrown chain that wedged against the frame coming out of the park put me behind the main pack right from the beginning and I never caught up.  At mile 21 while descending Tanner Road (from the direction of Mackyes toward Cedarvale), a driver coming from the opposite direction decided to turn in front of me into a driveway at a farm stand.  He hesitated quite a bit before turning so I thought he saw me, but no.  He accelerated into the shoulder towards the entrance to the driveway leaving me no options.  I thought I would broad-side him but my bike had other ideas as I quickly decelerated from 28 mph.  Actually, a bit too quickly as the brakes caught hard and I flipped over the handlebars landing on my helmet and shoulder.  Not sure how I missed the car.  My bike ended up at the local fire department courtesy of a quick response from the South Onondaga VFD, and I took a detour to Crouse Hospital by ambulance.  Kudos also to Marcellus Area Volunteer Ambulance (my second trip with that group).  The driver even remembered me from a prior mishap J.

Luckily, nothing broken but my helmet.  Lots of road rash and a very swollen shoulder and tailbone.  The bike is a little beat up but seems very fixable.  My wife thinks I need a new hobby.
