For those who are doing serious cross training…..

The 2017 World Snowshoe Championships are being held in Saranac Lake on February 25^th.  It is a 10K race (5K for juniors 19 and under) with no pre-qualifiers.  So, you too can be in the World Championships!

The race starts downtown in front of the town hall and then heads into the woods for a beautiful, though hilly, cruise to the top of the Dewey Mountain XC center, and then back to downtown.  The course actually comes up my driveway.

This is the first time the Worlds will be held in the USA.  Come on out and join the festivities.  If 10K sounds like too much, then join the 5K Shoe-Be-Doo fun race/walk.  Either way it looks to be a great weekend.  Friday Parade of Nations, opening ceremonies, night XC skiing or snowshoeing at Dewey Mtn.  Saturday race, afternoon Salsa Band music and dance, evening banquet and awards, followed by fireworks over the lake at 9:00.
