Hi Everyone,

The next Slow ‘n Easy West ride is scheduled for Tuesday, May 30, 2017.  The rides leave from the west end parking lot of Reed Webster Park in Camillus located on Warners Rd (Rt 173).  Our rides start promptly at 6:00 PM. 

The forecast for Tuesday’s weather shows “…partly sunny with a couple of showers and a thunderstorm…” with a high of 74…with a little luck it should be a good night to ride. J

I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.  We should all be thankful for the gift of freedom we have…to ride our bikes and enjoy life.  Remember, freedom is not free and was paid for with the blood of our soldiers.  Thank a veteran for their dedication and your freedom.

Our SnEW season is quickly passing by as we begin the month of June this coming week…where did May go???.  Now is the time to stop thinking about coming out to ride…just stop the procrastination and do it.  You will be glad you decided to do it. You bought the bike to get out more and ride but its sitting in the basement or garage is not doing you any good.  You need to convince yourself to give this ride a try and see if you like it.  You’ll find a great group of people with similar interests and goals to ride with and a variety of ride levels that will fit your skills and ability.  Give us a try…you’ll be happy with what you find.

The ride is open to all members of the club as well as guests who have an interest in the sport.  Guests are encouraged to join with us on a ride and see if they like what we offer.  If they do enjoy the ride, then we invite them to join the club and become a member so that they can take advantage of all the other club rides and activities for the year.  Our insurance only allows us to have guests ride once during the season.  Membership applications are available at rides or on line: https://onondagacyclingclub.org/product-category/membership/.

If you plan to come out, you are required to wear a DOT approved bike helmet for these rides.  If you don’t have one, you can buy one at your favorite bike shop or sporting goods store.  Even Walmart and Target have them.  No helmet…no ride...no exceptions.  

So, join us Tuesday evening May 30^th for the next S’nE West ride.

       Where:  Reed Webster Park, Camillus, NY located on Warners Rd (Rt 173) (parking lot on west end near tennis courts)

                                    When:    Ride(s) leaves at 6:00 PM sharp;  sign-in starts at ~5:30 PM

                                    Bring:     Your bike, a DOT approved helmet, water bottle and a strong desire to ride; you’ll want to stay hydrated

                                    Dress:    Whatever you are comfortable wearing on a bike… the weather will help dictate this

Mike Lyon and I will be there to answer your questions and lead the rides along with all our volunteer ride leaders.  We always welcome treats to share after the ride.  Stick around after the ride and we’ll be happy to listen to your comments and suggestions as well as answer any questions you may have.
