I am ride leader for Wednesday June 7th ride from Marcellus Park I drove the course (OCC map Mar-4) today to assess ride-ability The ride is moderately hilly The shorter 20 mile route has you traversing Rose Hill - up & down between NY 174 and US 20

NY 174 is a major part of this ride and the road surface conditions are not the best Also there is not really a shoulder, perhaps a foot or so but I don't recommend riding there The heavy rain has caused some silt from run-off to collect near the shoulder, especially on the section along/close to the west shore of Otisco Lake Nunnery Road and Woodworth Road were fine Be VERY careful on Masters Road as it is a steep windy downhill also with some silt from storm runoff

To minimize distance on NY 174, I recommend continuing south onto Sevier Road instead of turning onto US 20 at mile 3 5 on the way out and mile 24 9 on the way back (if you don't want to stay on NY 174 / Williams Rd to Masters Road as shown on the map for Mar-4)

I plan to ride but if the weather is not "nice" I'll do my ride lead duties at the start and end but won't be riding Current weather report is for a good chance of thunderstorms but reasonably warm (mid 60's)

I'll print up about 10 maps with various cues on the back (Original OCC Map cues, Cues using Sevier Road on the way out, Cues for the 20 mile option) The published map distances did not match up too well with Google Maps so the cues on the back show Google's distances That shows the longer ride closer to 30 miles than 32 miles (so it's not quite a 1/2 metric century) The Google cue sheet distance for Sevier Rd is 3 5 & 23 8 miles
