Hi Everyone,
Last night was a nice evening to ride; it was almost the longest day of the year (today is) so we had great light and the rain worked around us leaving us dry for the rides. There were 41 members and three guests for a total of 44 people who believed my forecast and came out to ride. We had 3 great rides to chose from: Al Storrings, Roland Pearson and myself lead the 10 mile easy road ride, Mike Lyon led the intermediate level ride and Tom Hotaling led his group on the challenge ride (not a beginners ride). The three rides covered a total of 856 miles for the night.
There were no riders interested in doing the canal loop for the third week in a row. I get the hint; everyone has graduated from the novice level and wants something more challenging. So, next week, unless I specifically hear from people that they want to do the canal ride (please email me), I will plan to bring my road bike and ride with the easy road group. It’s no fun for me to ride the road course on a hybrid…it’s geared wrong for me. So, if anyone is planning to come to ride the canal, let me know in advance so I can bring the correct bike.
I am not aware of any mechanicals or flat tires for the evening.
Don’t forget what Todd said about the club’s need for volunteers for this coming weekend’s races. This is the club’s big moneymaker for funding our charitable work in the community. WE NEED YOUR HELP!!! You can sign up on the club website to work…and it’s a lot of fun.
Ciao,
Tony
