Hi Everyone,
The next Slow ‘n Easy West ride is scheduled for Tuesday June 27, 2015 and leaves from the west end parking lot of Reed Webster Park in Camillus, located on Warners Rd (Rt 173), promptly at 6:00 PM.
Now that summer is officially here, the weather should be great…not really. Looking way ahead in the forecast, Tuesday will be “…mostly cloudy and cool with a couple of showers…” Are you surprised? I probably would not be surprised if the forecast called for snow at this point. This has got to be the worst weather we have had in a number of years. I just keep hoping it will get better. Check for an update on Tuesday.
Now that we have passed the longest day of the year, the days are already getting shorter. If you want to give the ride a try, don’t wait much longer or the season will be over. Now’s the time to act on your idea of coming out to this ride. We would love to have you join us and see if you enjoy what we have to offer. Dust off your bike…after you dig it out of the garage or basement…check the tire pressure and bring it out to the park this Tuesday evening. Anyone who has plans to do the canal ride needs to contact me by email to let me know you plan to do the ride. Don’t wait until Tuesday afternoon or you will be riding alone. If I don’t hear from anyone, I’ll bring my road bike and do the easy road ride with Mark. It seems that everyone has graduated from the canal ride and has moved up. That’s fine…just what we had in mind when we started these rides.
This ride is open to all members of the club as well as guests who have an interest in the sport. (Remember, if you have not yet renewed your membership for 2017…you are not a member and must sign in as a guest.) Guests are encouraged to join us on a ride and see if they like what we offer. If they do enjoy the ride, then we invite them to become a member so that they can take advantage of all the other club rides and activities during the year. Our insurance only allows us to have guests ride once during the season. Membership applications are available at rides or on line.
All riders are required to wear a DOT approved bike helmet for these rides. If you don’t have one, you can buy one at your favorite bike shop or sporting goods store. No helmet…no ride...no exceptions…and our insurance requires it.
So, join us this Tuesday evening for the next S’nE West ride.
