Comment: Hello, my name is Jack Arnold and I am a senior at Liverpool High School in Liverpool, New York. I am currently enrolled in the “Engineering Design and Development” class where we are tasked with finding a problem and developing solutions. I have focused on the issue of water bottles ejecting, or falling out of, water bottles cages on bicycles at speed or on bumpy terrain. I personally enjoying biking as a hobby and have encountered this before, but am now researching whether this a widespread issue among other mountain bikers and road cyclists.

I was wondering if you could ask a few cyclists around your organization whether or not it is common for water bottles to eject/fall out of water bottle cages. I don’t request anything fancy, but would appreciate a tally on the issue so I can get a general idea of how common this is.

Thank you for your time,
Jack Arnold
