Syracuse Bicycle is hosting their ninth annual Syracuse Bicycle Breast Cancer Awareness Ride on Sunday, October 1st, at Long Branch Park in Liverpool, NY. Participants can choose between four great ride options: a 10-mile family-friendly ride on the West Lake Shore Path, a 25-mile or a 50-mile road ride on a scenic loop west of Long Branch Park, and an 8-mile off road ride within the park for mountain bikes or cyclocross riders.

Net proceeds from the event will benefit the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund of Central New York, allowing funds raised to stay local and helping more women and their families right here in the Syracuse area. All riders will receive a t-shirt, a chance to win fabulous door prizes, and a fully catered post-ride lunch by Angotti’s Family Restaurant. Participating breast cancer survivors will receive a special gift in a recognition ceremony after the ride.

The Syracuse Bicycle Breast Cancer Awareness Ride draws over 400 riders each year and has raised over $85,000 in support of breast cancer research and awareness since its inception in 2009. Registration costs $40 and is available at www.syracusebicycle.com. Fundraising is optional but encouraged, with great prizes based on amount raised.

Why we ride…We ride for our Mothers, Daughters, Sisters, Aunts, and our best friends. We ride for people we know and for people we don’t. We ride to raise money for research and to find a cure.  OUR GOAL: $20,000!
