Hi Everyone,

So far this year, the weather has been working with us…slow in coming..but nice now.  We will be riding once again this c0ming Tuesday from Reed Webster Park in Camillus located on Rt 173 (Warners Rd) and meeting in the west end parking lot near the tennis courts for our rides.  The ride will start at 6:00 PM as usual.  I will be there this week!

The weather prediction is for “…sunny and beautiful” according to AccuWeather with a high around 70.  This should make for good riding.  Mike Lyon filled for me on the canal loop last week but was disappointed when there were not any riders.  Where were you all???

If you want to try out riding as well as riding with a group why not come out this Tuesday and give it a try?  I’ll be there to take the canal group on a “Slow and Easy” loop…not a race.  Dig out your bike and come out to ride with us this week.  I’m looking forward to seeing you.  Check your tire pressures and dust off the cob webs.  You don’t have to be a member to try the ride.  If you like it then you can register as a member right on the club website using a credit card or PayPal…we try to make it easyJ.  Just click here: : https://onondagacyclingclub.org/about/join-now/.

What we think makes this a great ride is the diversity we offer for riding skills.  Aside from the basic canal loop, we also offer a 10 mile slow highway route, an intermediate highway route of 18-20 miles  and a challenging faster and hillier 23 mile route for all those who want to go home tired.  Four different rides to pick from. Tom will be following option #3 this week for the experienced group…the route is on the website. From beginner to very experienced, we have you all covered.  Be sure to come out.

If you plan to come, be sure to bring you DOT approved helmet and your water bottle for hydration.  We can’t allow you to ride without a helmet…no excuses.  If you are a 2017 member and have yet to renew do so before the ride.  Non- members and non-renewed old members can only ride once as a guest during our season per the terms of our insurance.  The season is just starting so now is the time to get renewed.

                                        When:    Ride(s) leaves at 6:00 PM sharp;  sign-in starts at ~5:30 PM

                                        Bring:     Your bike, an approved helmet, water bottle and a strong desire to ride

   Dress:    Whatever you are comfortable wearing on a bike… the weather will help dictate this

PS:  Don’t forget our membership bike promotion.  By a new bike at any local bike shop and get a free membership for 2018.  This only applies to people who have not been members of the club previously and a bike shop is not Walmart, Target, Dicks etc.
