After this humidity gets flushed out overnight into early morning,  the temps will be a refreshing 76 degrees and the sun should break out as well.  The breeze will be kicking up a bit... 12 mph WNW.    Should be a nice evening for a ride.

Tour News:

Well I didn't have to be a soothsayer in predicting the mayhem of the cobblestones in Stage 9 on Sunday.  I'm amazed more riders didn't get hurt.   BMC took a huge hit.  Poor Richie Porte is knocked out of the race when he was involved in a crash that also involved a spectator - Dr Brian is guessing he's got a grade 3 or 4 AC joint sprain.  Yep, I slept at a Holiday Inn.   So, now BMC's podium hopes rested upon the shoulders of American Tejay van Garderen. Several crashes and three punctures wiped away those hopes faster than he could swipe the tears of frustration from his muddied face during the cool down.

Guy that showed immense guts and perseverance -    prize goes to Romain Bardet. Bardet had 3 flats and multiple bike and wheel changes along the way.  His last flat occurred with about 6 kilometers to go.  He was alone.  Luckily Movistar had sent 3 team mates back for Landa who had crashed on a drain opening in the cobblestones.  Bardet, Landa and team-mates put in a huge effort to only lose about 7 seconds on the GC contenders.

Power Team of the Day:    Movistar

Stayed together and they were at the front of the peloton much of the race.  Brought Quintana back to the peloton when he had problem.   Controlled the pace for much of the race.  Pulled Landa back to the fold when he crashed late in the race.

Tuesday could be a huge day!  First mtn stage after a rest day.   Who will come out of the rest day feeling great?   Who will have no legs for climbing?   For the contenders, tomorrow could cost some of them the chance to win.
