Hi Everyone,

Just a couple of days until this week’ s Slow ‘n Easy West ride on Tuesday July 24th at 6:00 PM from the Reed Webster Park on Warners Rd (Rt 173) in Camillus. At this point I have no promise on the weather…we’ll have to give it some time to see what it is going to do. It should not be cold with a predicted high of 82 degrees. Overall AccuWeather says “…Cloudy, a couple of showers and a thunderstorm; humid.” Let’s see how it turns out.
We have our regular mix of rides planned: Tom Hotaling has scheduled option #6, a challenging 25 ride for the experienced riders while Mike Lyon will have an 18-22 mile intermediate route selected. Mark Perrin and his crew will be doing an easy all highway 10/13 mile loop. If you twist his arm he may do 15…just ask. I’ll lead the beginner’s easy canal/highway ride of around 10 miles. I have not had any report on paving or oiling of the roads in the area so things should be OK. Other than Tom’s ride, all the others are “no drop” rides so you won’t be stranded on a road you don’t know.
Each week I offer folks who are new to riding or riding in a group to come on out and try this ride. We are over half way through the season for the SnEW rides and darkness comes a bit earlier each week. If you are not a member of the club, join us as a ‘guest’ and add a new dimension to you summer fun by riding your bike. Ride as a ‘guest’ and decide if this is for you. If it is you can join on line at our website. There is still a lot of riding left this season. Fair warning…you can only ride once during the season as a ‘guest’ and you must wear a DOT approved bike helmet. Get off the couch and come out with us…you’ll have fun! You can get a helmet at a local bike shop, sporting goods store or even Walmart. They are not expensive when you consider the protection they offer. Convince a friend to come and share the fun.
Here are the details for this week’s ride:
