Hi Everyone,
Here we go again with another SnEW ride this Tuesday at 6:00 PM from Reed Webster Park,
located on Rt 173 (Warners Rd.) in Camillus. Sorry we had to cancel last week but the weather was just not good for a ride. Hopefully this week will be better. Accuweather is predicting “…Mainly cloudy, occasional rain; humid” with a high of 83 for the day. We’ll have to get closer to see when the “occasional” rain will come. Watch for my afternoon email to see what we do.
The rain we had has really greened things up. I was happy to see a lot of it come as easy steady rain so that it soaked in. We had 3.75” in my rain gauge when it ended. I hope you all had a decent share of the rain also.
If you haven’t as yet tried this ride, maybe this is the week to do it. Next week we will be into August and then it won’t be long before the SnEW season is over. So, don’t put it off any longer. Come on out and join us for some cycling fun. Since Tuesday is the last Tuesday of the month, it will be “hilly Tuesday” for Tom Hotaling’s experienced group. He is planning the hilly option #3 which covers 27 miles…bring your good legs. Mike Lyon will have an 18-22 mile loop for the intermediate class of riders while Mark Perrin of The Bikery and his ride leaders will have a 10-13…maybe 15 mile all highway loop for the newer riders. Mark will adjust for the group’s needs. Of course, I’ll have a beginner’s loop of about 10 miles on the canal path and the highway so I hope we have everyone covered. If you have a route idea, speak with Mike or me and we may be able to work something out.
You are not a member??? That’s OK, come as our guest to try the ride. If you like it, join the club because there will still be a lot of riding once the SnEW season is over. You can join on line at our website with a credit card or PayPal…without any added charge. If you chose to come as a guest you will need a working bicycle as well as a bike helmet. Our insurance requires all riders to ride with a DOT approved helmet. You are also limited to one ride during the season as a guest. Membership is pretty inexpensive.

PS: No one has claimed the key I posted on this page as of yet. If it is yours, let me know and I will bring it.

PPS: I have a bike rack that fits in the bed of a Pick-up truck that is free for the asking. It was gifted to me and I would be happy to gift it to someone else if they can use it. It appears to be well made and is fairly heavy. Here is a photo:
