Today was a perfect day for riding, especially around the Finger Lakes.  Seven of us started out and ended at Knapp Winery for the annual Ride & Wine Ride.  We ran into some bridge closings (3 to be exact) and some dirt roads (one was flat, one was on a hill).  One bridge crossing we easily got across and the worker was friendly.  The second, we kindly inquired if we could cross and he asked ‘Didn’t you see the sign?’.  Not wanting to give bikers a bad name, we turned around and took the detour which was pavement/dirt/pavement/dirt/etc.  The third closure, we didn’t even attempt.  After all the detours, we ended up with 52 miles.  Everyone came in with no flats or incidents (like falling over on a dirt road).  After the ride, most of us stayed for a nice lunch at Knapp Winery.  

Everyone was very flexible and didn’t seem to mind the disruptions in the route.  Thanks to those that came out!  Pictures can be viewed on OCC FB page.
