Hi everyone - it was a beautiful day on Saturday, and we had a great turnout for our annual charity ride. 78 people came out and rode various distances, with most people opting for the metric century. The heat caused some riders to cramp up near the end, but they eventually made it back to the park, where a wonderful BBQ meal prepared by Chef Roland Pearson was awaiting all the hungry riders. As many of you know, Mary Jeavons took a hard fall on some loose gravel during the metric ride and had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital. She has three fractures in her pelvis and is still there recovering. I know all of us wish her a speedy recovery. The club rides aren't the same without her smiling selfie photos

Thank you to Mike Lyon for organizing the ride again and being there ALL DAY for us. Thanks also to Mike, Tom Hoteling, and Bob Spear for marking the course; Roland for the lunch feast; Don Butler and Tony Baleno who helped out at the park and with registrations; Sue Bray for working the rest stop at Rudy's; and Kate Waltman who was at the Phoenix rest stop. I don't have the final numbers in, but I'm sure we raised close to $2,000 for StepUpMoment, the charity Kate founded.
And finally, thanks to everyone who came out on Saturday! I hope you all had a great ride and a fun time.
See ya on the road,
Colleen Farrell
