Well Mother Nature had quite a laugh at our TTers expense last night.
I went to the course early to evaluate the new stones laid down on Moore Rd.
They had been smoothed down nicely. No need to create a new course on Tag Rd.

Checked the radar repeatedly especially after Jill said the skies were threatening in Jamesville. The reds cells consistently were sliding just south of us. We might get a couple of showers on the course. We are a go!

Black Creek Rd is getting stoned at the perimeter of the course, so my sweeping had to be extra vigorous. I could use the exercise. Course swept.

Four intrepid riders showed up. After a bit of milling about, we had Ken and Dick ready to roll, Zack a maybe and Jill passed after recounting the day when she was riding the day a tornado struck in the area.
6:14 Riders at the start. Hmm. skies looking threatening. One last look at the radar. The series of red cells to the south had literally formed a finger shaped red cell that extended across our TT course. Yep, Mother Nature gave us the finger!
I cancelled the TT and we hustled outta there. At 6:20 I was driving through a deluge of rain with swirling winds at the 2 mile mark of the course. We definitely made the right decision.
So what now? Tour de France, of course! Even after crosswinds wreaked havoc on half of the GC contenders hopes for a podium there is still a lot of action to come. Get inspired by the 16.5 mile Individual Time Trial on Friday! Take advantage of the rest day on Monday to get caught up on your sleep and come out to hammer the course Tuesday night!
Enjoy the summer heat!

Nice warm night for the Time Trial.... temps in the high 80s... SW breeze of 8mph. There is a chance for a T-storm at around 3pm... with a much lesser chance of them at start time.
A layer of stones were sprinkled on parts of Moore Rd this week. Thank you Ken for letting me know!
I will drive the course and determine if Moore Rd is TTable. If it is not, we will set up an ad-hoc 10 mile course nearby on Tag Rd.
