This week’s Slow ‘n Easy West ride is set for this coming Tuesday, August 20^th leaving at 6:00 PM from Reed Webster Park in Camillus on Rt 173 (Van Buren Rd.). We hope you can join us and enjoy this great ride.  Sign-in opens at around 5:30 PM in the west end parking lot near the tennis courts.

Accuweather is forecasting “…Sunshine and patchy clouds” on Tuesday with a forecasted high of 84 degrees.  That is strange...no rain in the forecast!   If it doesn’t rain…is it really Tuesday???  Hopefully the forecast will remain good.

Come on out and try one of these great OCC rides if you have not done so yet.  The SnEW ride has become one of the club’s most popular rides over the last several years and you get to pick the ride you want to do.  We will have a choice of 4 rides for those who join us.  There is a 10 mile real easy canal/highway route but, we also offer a 10 mile slow, all highway route (easy).  We also have an intermediate all highway route of 18-20 miles (more challenging and faster…Mike’s choice each week, but he needs to bring his shoes J)  and a very challenging faster and hillier 20-25 mile route for all those who are looking for a biking workout.  Four different rides to choose from. Other than the “challenge” ride, all the rides are no drop rides.  You won’t be left behind. Tom Hotaling, our “challenge” leader, will be using option #2, a 20 mile loop.  Check out the ride on the club website and print yourself a copy of the route map or download the GPS if you want to try this one. 

Not an OCC member? Come out and ride as our guest. Come and see if you like it.  Dig out your bike from wherever it is hiding, clean it off and check the brakes and tire pressures and bring it out this Tuesday.  This ride is open to all guests as well as regular members of the club. (Remember, if you have not yet renewed your membership from 2018…you are not a member and must sign in as a guest.)  Our insurance only allows us to have guests ride once during the season.  If you like the ride experience, join the club on-line or use a hard copy membership application available at rides. Remember, there are still a lot of great OCC rides before the season closes…and hopefully we’ll have a nice mild and DRY fall.

All riders are required to wear a DOT approved bike helmet for theseany club rides.  If you don’t have one, you can buy one at your favorite bike shop or sporting goods store.  No helmet…no ride...no exceptions…our insurance requires it.

                                        When:    Ride(s) leaves at 6:00 PM sharp August 20th;  sign-in starts at ~5:30 PM

                                        Bring:     Your bike, an approved helmet, water bottle and a strong desire to ride; check tire pressures and brakes

   Dress:    Whatever you are comfortable wearing on a bike… the weather will help dictate this.  Be sure to have an approved helmet.  No helmet…no ride.
