This week’s Slow ‘n Easy West ride is set for this coming Tuesday, August 27^th leaving at 6:00 PM from Reed Webster Park (with the newly paved parking area) in Camillus on Rt 173 (Van Buren Rd.). We hope you can join us and enjoy this great ride.  Sign-in opens at around 5:30 PM in the west end parking lot near the tennis courts.

Accuweather is forecasting “…Variable cloudiness; pleasant” on Tuesday with a forecasted high of 75 degrees.  Looks like this could be a nice day! J Hopefully the forecast will remain good.

The SnEW ride is one of the club’s most popular weeknight rides.  You get to pick the ride you want to do from a group of four.  We will have a choice of 4 rides for those who join us.  There is a 10 mile real easy canal/highway route but, we also offer a 10 mile slow, all highway route (easy).  We have an intermediate all highway route of 18-20 miles (more challenging and faster…Mike’s choice each week)  and a very challenging faster and hillier 20-27 mile route for all those who are looking for a biking workout.  Four different rides to choose from. Other than the “challenge” ride, all the rides are no-drop rides.  You won’t be left behind. Tom Hotaling, our “challenge” leader, reminds me that this is the last Tuesday of the month so he will be using hillier option #3 a nice 27 mile challenge. If you feel up to this, give it a try. 

Come out and ride as our guest this week and give the ride the SnEW a try. Come and see if you like it.  Dig out your bike from wherever it is hiding, clean it off, check the brakes and tire pressures and bring it out this Tuesday.  This ride is open to all guests as well as regular members of the club. (Remember, if you have not yet renewed your membership from 2018…you are not a member and must sign in as a guest.)  Our insurance only allows us to have guests ride once during the season.  If you like the ride experience, join the club on-line or use a hard copy membership application available at rides. Remember, there are still a lot of great OCC rides before the season closes…and hopefully we’ll have a nice mild and DRY fall.

All riders are required to wear a DOT approved bike helmet for these or any club rides.  If you don’t have one, you can buy one at your favorite bike shop or sporting goods store.  No helmet…no ride...no exceptions…our insurance requires it.

                                        Bring:     Your bike, an approved helmet, water bottle and a strong desire to ride; check tire pressures and brakes

   Dress:    Whatever you are comfortable wearing on a bike… the weather will help dictate this.  Be sure to have an approved helmet.  No helmet…no ride.
