Another good night for a Time Trial ! The temperature was around 78 degrees and the NW breeze decided to take a break and faded to a light puff.
We had 8 intrepid souls roll up to the start line to take on the race of truth.... okay enough drama.
The Fastest Men's Time (FMT) honors go to Tiago Barreira who showed up lean and mean but unfortunate had some mechanical, check that electronic, problems with the shifting. He managed to spin the course in a time of 23:53 (25:12 mph). I'm suspecting that time will drop when he is able to dial in the gearing. Ron Nelson couldn't quite equal the PR of last week, but still put in a solid time of 24:37 (24.38 mph). Pretty cool. He almost managed to solve the mathematical problem of having his time equaling his speed in MPH. Maybe I need to calculate to the 1000th digit.
Tiago and Ken Toscano were chatting about how much they love Zwift and how much it motivates them to work harder during the off-season. Well it paid off for Ken as well - he destroyed his previous RoadAero PR by 26 seconds! His son, 15 year old, Kaleb, rode the Tag Road course last year at around 19mph. This year, a year stronger, he rode at 21.4 mph! Dad, had better watch out. I have a feeling that Kaleb is going to be a force to be reckoned with.
Welcome to OCC TT course newby Phil Dilmore! Hopefully he'll make this a regular part of his riding schedule. Rob Niederhoff is looking to take the most consistent TTer award by riding the same time as last week. Can he make it 3 in a row? His son, Jorge, knocked off 39 seconds from last week's time as he zeroes in on last year's PR. Good to see regular Dick Rybinski make it out and lay down a marker for the future challenges.
So far the forecast for next Tuesday night is looking good.
Til next time (trial)!
