One thing I've learned while running the TT is that you never know what Mother Nature decides to deliver at start time.  I was sure we would see a brisk 10mph S to SE breeze.. hoping it would be SE - the more favorable direction.  Well for some reason the breeze eased to almost nil... there was some puff from the SE, but nothing significant.

We had 9 riders show up to take on the course.  Perhaps my optimistic, nearly guaranteeing PRs prediction drew them out again. I can't take credit for the PRs (unless I'm fudging the results),  these TTers put the hammer down big time!

We had 7 PRs, 1 best 2020 time and our ninth rider established the course record in the Hybrid category.

Our fastest rider was Amy Kneale who smoked the course in a PR time of 24:50 (24.15mph).  Amy has the fastest women time for 2020.  The Fastest Men Time (FMT) was garnered by Sean Kesselring. He continues to lower his PR throughout 2020 - slicing the course with a time of 25:14 (23.78mph) and lowering his PR by another 8 seconds.

As you can see in the results below,  Drew, Ken, Mark, Kaleb and Rich all establish PRs.  Way to Go!

Tour de France news:
Hey, maybe everyone is inspired by the Tour de France (TdF).  It's been pretty exciting.  Great mountain top finish in stage 4 Tuesday!   Roglic looked so strong!  But, the surprise was how strong his young American team mate, Sepp Kuss,  was on the final climb. He's someone to keep an eye on.

And how cool was it today?   Jumbo Visma and Ineos dualing side by side stringing out the field in the last 15 miles... What a show of force!     That pace may have softened the legs of the sprinters as the usual suspects didn't quite have it at the end. Somehow all-rounder mtn domestique Van Aert managed to beat the worlds best sprinters to the line! The day before he's pulling in front of Roglic on the final climb (before Sepp took over), and the next day he's winning a sprint finish.  That never happens!  Sagan is looking human and may have to scarf up every point he can get to pull off another Green jersey.  Ewan is so explosive, but just didn't time his move well today.  This year there aren't many sprint finishes on the menu, so each one is critical.

Big mountain top finish tomorrow (well today now) !!   Good one to record!

Til next week.
