As we organized at the start line at 6:15pm I started to doubt if the OCC Weather Control System was activated. Dark clouds ruled the skies and the temps were a Fall-like 57 degrees.  BUT, as the last rider was sent off the sun broke through and the breeze tailed off just a bit. Take that Wayne!

While conditions were not perfect, it was still a solid night to come out and ride.   We had 9 TTers show up to do battle on the fastest TT course East of the Mississippi.  We had two TT course newbys challenge the course, welcome Jon Cyganik and Chris Lloyd !

The fastest time was posted by Jon Cyganik who eviscerated the course with a time of 23:00 (26.09 mph). To the best of my knowledge, this time places him as the 6th fastest person to ride the course in the last 6 years.    Our fastest Junior was Kaleb Toscano.  He cruised through the course in a time of 26:22 (22.76 mph).  Chris Lloyd pummeled the course in a time of 25:21 (23.67mph) in what I believe is the course record in the Road category for an OCC member.  Drew Butler sliced the course in a PR time of 25:16 (23.75 mph).   Also, noteworthy is Ken Toscano's effort of 26:24 (22.74 mph) after completing a two-man Oneida Lake century ride on Saturday at an impressive ave speed.

Overall, the course conditions appeared to be about 20-35 seconds slower than a "good" day.

I know some of you are thinking about coming out to challenge yourselves.  Do it.  You will be happy you did.  Again, it's you against you!

Tour de France is here already!   Earlier than usual for some reason.  Stages 1 and 2 will be punchy climbs and not the typical flattish rides of the early stages.  The TT will be on Wednesday of next week.  So, plan on coming out for Tuesday's TT and earn the right to relax while watching the Wed TdF TT and say "I did that yesterday..."   okay, just a little slower.

Enjoy the summer weather!
