Despite red cell assaults from the southeast, the OCC Weather Control System (WCS - patent pending) held firm. Not a single drop of Mother Nature's tears touched the tarmac.
The temperature was around 84 degrees, humidity high, but the winds amazingly settled down to less than 4mph. The conditions approached ideal - certainly a speed rating of no less than 9 out of 10.
Nine riders trusted the WCS and came out to do battle with themselves. Ben Rabin (FMT) smoked the course in a blistering time of 23:45 (25.26 mph) - only 9 seconds off of his PR from 2016. Susan Andersson (FWT) rode a torrid pace to place 2nd overall with a time of 24:47 (24.20 mph). Others came close to their PRs: Kurt Andersson - 16 seconds, Jr Jon Taber - 18 seconds, Karen Busse - 10 seconds and Robin Jones - 5 seconds. Super efforts by all ! Good to see Gordy out again.
Thanks again to Tim Taber for manning the back-up timing tonight.
Looking forward to the Vuelta a Espana starting on Saturday. But, NBCsports isn't carrying it until Aug 20th. Dang it!

Til next time!
