What a perfect evening for a Time Trial !   No hurricanes interfering, none of Mother Nature's chicanery, etc.

The temperature was 82 degrees and the wind had settled to sub-4 mph from the NW.   The course speed rating adjusted to a 9.1/10.

Seven TTers rolled up to the start line with course busting intent.  We would have had eight, but Kurt busted his spoke during his warm-up.  Glad it didn't happen rounding a turn at high speed.  Our Fastest Male has just cleared  inspection for a hidden frame/wheel motor and cybernetic implants. This was necessary because I observed his pit crew connecting a space age charging device to some part of his bike or person. We can't be too careful.  Turns out it really was his head unit that his wife Jocelyn was charging.  Ben Rabin came to the TT with a mission:  Break My 2016 PR !    And he did it!   He eviscerated the TT course with a time of 23:27 (25.58mph) -  9 seconds faster than his 2016 previous best. Impressive!   Susan Andersson continues to maintain excellent form to take the FWT with a scorching time of 24:46 (24.23 mph).  Our fastest Junior, riding for Team Toscano, was Kaleb Toscano (RoadAero category) who blazed through the TT course with a time of 26:07 (22.97mph).  Sr Toscano came close to his 2021 RoadAero category best time and personal PR of 25:30 - missing by only 10 seconds. Junior (14 yo) Jon Taber continues to build strength and set a PR of 29:28 (20.36mph).   Sean Kesselring and Gordy Pynn were both faster than 2 weeks ago, 23 seconds and 17 seconds faster respectively.  Course conditions two weeks ago was a similar speed rating, therefore they are truly getting faster.

The season is winding down.  Many of you are riding really well on the club rides.  Come on out and nail your best time while you can.  You won't be disappointed.  And if you are, come out and do it again.

Vuelta now on NBCSports !   Some big climbs so far. Some drama.  Roglic already with a decent lead overall decides to further increase his lead by breaking ahead of his main rivals, overcooks a corner on the descent and goes down. Luckily, bike and body still functioning and he doesn't lose time.  He could have been out of the Vuelta with that unnecessary move.

Magnus Cort Nielson displayed amazing power to hold off Roglic on stage 6 and then soloed the end of stage 11 only to get caught by Roglic and company with 100 yards to go.  What drama!

Not going to talk about today's stage.  I haven't watched it yet... no spoilers people!

More Mountains coming next week!
