Thanks to Tiago for providing me with the NYS TT Championship results link.  Never would have found it.   Five of our regular Tuesday Night TTers participated and did very well.

Ron Nelson           2nd   Masters 65-69    20km
Mariana Rinaldo    1st    Open Women Eddie Merckx  40km
Amy Kneale           1st Masters 55  3rd Cat 1/2    40km
Susan Andersson   3rd Masters 60+        20km
Tiago Barreira        1st  Masters 40-45    40km

Congratulations to all !!

Now to the Tour.....
If you haven't watched yesterday's stage, make an effort to do so.  You can watch previous stages on Peacock.  Pay for the small fee for a month of Peacock - its worth it.      I promise you it's a HUGE stage with lots of action from the the top riders!

And watch today's stage !    3 HC (above category) climbs today !    Croix de Fer (Iron Cross) is 18 miles long at 5.2% and then the finishes on L'Alpe D'Huez   8.5 miles at 8%

This year is more exciting than past years when a single team has dominated.

Enjoy!

The blustery winds and the uncertainty of the rain dampened the attendance.  Also we had at least 3 regulars participate in the NYS TT championship in Tioga on Sunday.  I know Amy Kneale and Susan Andersson podiumed, but, after an extensive search I cannot find a posting of the results. Crazy.

Usually the winds are a bit lower than predicted by start time.   Last night it appeared to me that the wind was stronger than predicted... possibly gusting to 15mph from the WNW.  That makes for a tough first 3 miles.

Three TTers rolled to the line to do battle with the course, the wind and their inner demons.  Our Fastest Man Time was established by Junior Jon Taber who flew through the course in an impressive time of 27:07 (22.13mph).  That's only 4 seconds away from his PR!    Rich and Phil came out for their first TT of the season and have now established benchmarks for the rest of the season.

Thanks to Tim Taber for manning the backup timing at the finish.

Tour de France Notes.
Ten stages completed so far.  It's been a pretty good start.

Brought tears to my eyes to see Fabio Jakobsen win a sprint finish after his horrific crash 2 years ago.
Magnus Cort fighting for every breakaway.
VanAert is a Cyborg!
Can any one unhinge Pogacar?  He covers all of the moves.
I miss Alaphillipe's combativeness.
Sad to see Roglic crash again in the tour.  Tough guy.  Reset his problematic dislocated shoulder after a crash.

American's representing well.
Brandon McNulty one of Pogacar's primary lieutenants in the mtns.  Riding strong so far.
Quinn Simmons -  mixing it up in the breakaways.  Youngest rider in the tour
Nielson Powless -  ridng well.  Finished 4th in Tour de Suisse last month.  Next EF team leader?
Matteo Jorgenson  -  rode a strong stage 10 and contested for victory in the breakaway.
Sepp Kuss -  haven't seen much from him.  May be more active in the mtn stages of week  2 and 3 helping Vingegaard and Roglic.

Today's stage is one to watch!!   They will go over the Col du Galibier.
Col de Galibier 11 miles at 7%   4000 ft  up to around 8500ft of altitude

Alpe d'Huez coming tomorrow!!

Enjoy!
