Correction:
I wrote that Jon Taber had a time of 26:16 in the summary when it was actually 26:26. The results attachment has the correct time. I'm sure he'll knock 10 seconds off some time in the future, but lets make him earn it.

The conditions Tuesday at the TT course were cooler and less breezy than originally predicted. Temps hovered at 69-70 degrees and the NW breeze was around 6mph by my best estimation. Almost, dare I say, Fall-like.
5 TTers showed up to pit themselves against the course. We had a decent battle for the fastest time... with only 18 seconds separating the top 3. Ken Toscano seized the FMT by ripping through the course in 26:15 (22.86mph). Not far behind was Junior Jon Taber who utilized his top secret wind cheating bike position to score a new PR time of 26:16 (22.69mph) - eclipsing his previous best by 37 seconds.
Actually only four went all out steady state. Mark Person fresh off of a series of triathlons pushed hard to the 5 mile mark and worked as traffic control on the right hand turn onto Kirkville Rd, and then served as the motivational coach for Rich O'Neil for the last 5 miles. Rich is used to training for long distance endurance events.... having completed 18 Ironman races over the last 23 years or so. The motivational encouragement seemed to work as Rich took off almost 2 minutes from his TT of 4 weeks ago. I could have sworn I heard a whip crack several times but no one else could corroborate. Hey, no pain , no gain...
Thanks to Dannielle at the finish by serving as the back-up timer. I never know when I'll fat-finger a time stamp.
