Oh! Yea of little faith!
While it was raining cats and dogs til about 5pm in the Manlius area there had been just a brief shower that touched the northern part of the TT course . The skies had cleared over the TT course and the breeze had dried the roads on 80% of the course.
Only one person trusted the self-anointed weather Oracle today. The FMT (Fastest Men's Time) was registered by Dick Rybinski who blasted through the breeze in a time of 32:45(18.32mph). Dick broke his streak of identical TT times.
Random Note: As I swept the course I came across a felled tree that had blocked 75% of the road at mile 9 on Black Creek Rd. A local stopped by and helped me move it and then stated that it hadn't been there in the morning. When I got to the start, Dick and I chatted with a cyclist who had just finished 2 practice laps on the TT course. He stated that the tree fell between his two practice run!. Dang! No more than 30 minutes before the time I had driven through. That could have been ugly.
Don't forget about the Vuelta !
Til next week.
