The slow and easy no drop ride tomorrow will be on the 22 mile route.
I’m noticing a pattern of having more riders on the road than the official paperwork shows. I had nine riders in my shorter slow and easy group today, but only six are recorded on the sign-in sheet. We don’t require advance registration, but you do need to sign in at the ride site. Please give yourself enough time to find the ride start location, get your gear on, and sign in for the ride. Signing in is required for insurance purposes. (And be sure to sign out at the end as well so the ride leader knows you made it back safely!)
Also, there was some rumbling today that the ride leader is responsible for making sure all riders have hydration and nutrition. That is not the case. Each rider should make sure they have what they need for liquid and any food or for energy. If you get to a ride and realize you forgot your water, I would highly recommend you let the ride leader know so a call can be put out to the group for anyone who might be able to help you out. If you’re riding more than 25 miles without any supplemental nutrition, you’re likely to experience the dreaded no-fun experience of bonking.
Here’s the link to tomorrow’s ride again. We roll at 10:00. It is forecast to be chillier but significantly less windy than today. Looking forward to seeing you!

| From: triharder.karen@PROTECTED I am the leader for Sunday’s ride out of Chittenango and am planning to offer a slow and easy no drop ride on either the 23 or 29 mile option. I’ll take input from others who would like to ride on their preference. My only hesitation on the 23 mile route is the several miles on Lakeport, which is very busy with narrow shoulders and high speed traffic.
The link below shows two options, 22 (really 23) miles and 33 miles, but the map and cues show a cutoff for 29 miles.
I’m also planning on riding on Saturday out of Lysander town park, although I’m not the ride leader. But for anyone who would like to ride at a less hectic pace, I plan to ride a shortened version of the 29 mile route (I think it ends up being 26 miles).
So come ride with me! Hope to see you this weekend at one or the other (or both!) ride. |
