It was another nice night for a bike ride.

Eight TTers showed up to beat back their inner demons on the fastest  TT course East of the Mississippi (yep, I'm back with that now EmojiEmoji)  !

The group was paced by our resident rocket man, Tiago.  He goes first so as to not blow anyone over as he passes by.  He incredibly TIED his PR of 21:21 (28.11mph) even after having to finesse his chain back on to his 55 tooth chainring after it slipped past it.  That probably cost 3-4 seconds.  Bonnie took the Fastest Woman Time (FWT) by blistering the course in her 2nd best time ever of 24:10 (24.83mph). Newcomer Kevin is learning the nuances of the course and was able to knock off 10 sec from his first TT for a new PR time of 24:24(24.59mph).   Susan was out for the first time this year and knocked out an impressive time of 25.10 (23.85mph) which was only 41 sec off of her 2021 best time.

We had a couple of vintage bike showings as well.  Kurt Andersson rode what I would guess was a late 80s/early 90s Pinarello.  It was in beautiful shape. And Dick, again this year, unleashed his 1988 Rossin with the mylar rear wheel on the course.  Dang! I should have taken a pic of them.

Vuelta Notes:
Vuelta a Espana starts this weekend !   23 year old Evenepoel will be back to defend. He is fresh off of his win in the World TT Champion two weeks ago.And he was winning the Giro before dropping out w Covid.    But he will have his hands full battling the Jumbo-Visma team that is hell bent on winning all 3 Grand Tours this year.  Roglic is back and coming off his Giro Italia win in May.  He had won the previous three Vueltas before dropping out last year.  And TdF winner Vingegaard will be there to assist him or compete depending upon his recovery from the TdF.  Super mtn domestic Sepp Kuss will be assisting too.  3 Grand Tours for him this year.   There are of course others that are competing for a podium spot.

It should be an exciting Vuelta !!
