A total of 16 riders headed out on the Lake Neatahwana rides on Labor Day. It was a more popular ride than I anticipated. I received many compliments on the course. It wasn’t actually the set of courses I intended to choose, but it worked out well, and I’d definitely do it again.
52 miles: 2 riders
48 miles: 2 riders
34 miles: 6 riders
23 miles: 6 riders
Total: 542 miles
Couple of reminders: Please round up to the nearest mile when you record your distance - decimals require too much math - hahaha. My general rule of thumb, which may become the next hotly debated item - is if my decimal is .1 or .2, I round down. Probably rode to the restroom or around the parking lot to test something. So 12.1 becomes 12. Anything above that is up. So a 22.8 ride becomes 23. 33.5 becomes 34.
Also, spin BOTH your wheels before heading out. I had the worst three miles of my life because I was inadvertently braking the entire time. It’s such a simple thing to do and makes a TON of difference.
And finally I have to say our club has the most gracious members. It’s so nice to be so effusively thanked for leading a ride. I’m happy that you’re able to enjoy the rides!
