All,
I am the ride leader for tomorrow morning’s Happy Valley ride. A week ago the forecast looked reasonable for mid-April but it seems each day the forecast has gotten worse. I checked this morning and it called for 95% chance of rain, winds and mid-40s. I’ve lived in Syracuse too long so I actually believe in the philosophy of “if you don’t like the weather, wait 5 minutes and it will change. Well, I did check again and it did change, but not for the better. Looks like 40 degrees now and “sleet” and “snow” are now listed as possible.
After all that positivity (sarcasm) aside, I will be there with a sign in sheet if anyone chooses to ride but I won’t be riding with you.
It’s unfortunate because this is a very nice ride and usually gets a good turnout. To alleviate anyone’s disappointment about the weather dampening enthusiasm for this route I did take advantage of a Leader’s Choice and signed up to lead this very same route on Saturday May 25th. No guarantees on the weather that day but I’m pretty sure the words “sleet” and “snow” won’t be in the forecast.
If I don’t see you tomorrow morning, I hope to see you all in May.
Thanks,
Phil Dilmore
